These plates are remarkable showcase of Oshibana artwork, pressing flora and fauna to create decorative compositions.
Based on our research, door plates of this craft, style, and material were most commonly salvaged from French Château’s and would have originated from the early 1900’s-1930’s.
Flowers and leaves have been hand-pressed together with 24-carat gold leaf carefully laid to look like delicate leaves, then laminated over the back with white and black paint. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips or nibbles and features a delicate beveled edge.
These push plates are a beautiful architectural and decorative feature that will enhance any period (or modern, for that matter!) door.
With two locating holes on each plate, they are easy to install and make a perfect addition to any home.
